Developing Middle Leaders

A series of six taught sessions, which develop the skills required of a middle leader in schools today. There will be the opportunity to conduct a self-evaluation of current leadership strengths and experiences that will be the focus of the personal development of each leader. As part of the course, each colleague will work on a significant improvement project, which the participant will share across the group as a final presentation in session 6.

Aims
To develop key leadership skills in aspiring or newly appointed middle leaders
To explore how to lead and manage staff as part of a team through the process of change
To foster understanding of leadership theories, which underpin leadership practices in schools
To apply leadership skills within a supported context of a leadership impact project within your own school
