Who we are….
A group of teachers passionate about ensuring high quality maths provision for all primary school children in Plymouth. We have a variety of expertise across the primary school age ranges and specialist subject knowledge within maths. We are proud to represent a wide range of primary schools across Plymouth.
Our aim is to support school leaders, subject leads, teachers and support staff in becoming skilled practitioners who are confident in delivering a progressive, purposeful and high-quality maths curriculum. We aim to provide a platform through which practitioners can share, reflect on and develop their knowledge, expertise and skills in order to positively impact on their pedagogy and outcomes for the children they work with. Ultimately, we strive to ensure that all children in Plymouth have access to high quality maths provision.
What we do…
Each year, we provide a range of CPD for school leads, primary teachers and support staff on areas such as Teaching For Maths Mastery; developing rich opportunities for Fluency, Reasoning and Problem Solving; and Achieving ARE at KS1 and KS2.
We also provide school to school support where required and have a range of practitioners to draw on to tailor support to schools’ needs.
How to get involved…
To get involved, please attend one of our termly open hub “Primary Maths and Munchies” meetings, which are free of charge. Further to these sessions, there are also a range of additional CPD opportunities which you can access via the PTSA’s website and circulated flyers.
Furthermore, if you are interested in supporting the hub and helping us to further develop our offer, then we would love to hear from you.
