PRACTITIONER'S DATABASE
PROFILE: Simon Tombs
MY BACKGROUND
I teach Psychology as a department of one at Devonport High School For Boys. I started teaching in 1987, originally as a Classics teacher. I have worked in six schools of different types both in London and in Plymouth.
MY AREAS OF EXPERTISE
I deliver all aspects of the Psychology A Level curriculum. At the moment, I am particularly interested in the development of practical work in Psychology. I deliver the course using Google Suite For Education. I have developed a Google Site for delivering content and make use of Google Classroom in all lessons.
MY SUCCESS STORIES
Longevity: I have managed the delivery of the curriculum through three substantial curriculum change.
Innovation: I have tried to make use of the best practice around me and have always tried to get better. In my current role, liaising with Plymouth University and with the Institute For Research In Schools is, I think, bringing about substantial change for the better.
