Developing a Research Led, Pedagogical Approach to Continuous Provision – Year 1

We are delighted to feedback that the LAT trial of Continuous Provision in Y1 has indicated strong progress and outcomes for children alongside high levels of executive function and high wellbeing scales. We have developed a LAT rationale for schools who are interested in developing continuous provision in Y1 in their schools from September. This is based on research and linked to the good practice of the trial schools.

We would like to offer a package of 2 CPD sessions in the summer term to support your Y1 teams to develop a research led, pedagogical approach to continuous provision.

• Session 1: Thursday 18^th June 4-5.30pm at Pomphlett. Focus: Rational, pedagogy, the role of purposeful play, active learning and the role of critical thinking. This will include a tour of Pomphlett’s Y1 provision and opportunity to meet and speak with staff.

• Session 2: Thursday 25th June 4-5.30pm at Salisbury Rd. Focus: Developing the curriculum Y1/UL, LAT expectations for English and Maths, the development of floor books, timetables and day to day practicalities. This will include a tour of Salisbury Rd provision and meet with staff team.
