Early Years Open Hub Meeting – Autumn Term

During 2017/18 end of year EYFS Hub review, colleagues fed back to PTSA Hub Leaders that they valued being given the opportunity to attend cross city EYFS INSET training.

Therefore, ALL EYFS staff and Nursery practitioners are invited to attend this important and exciting city-wide training event where discussions on developing staff expertise and confidence when teaching speech and language will take place.

During the event…

• Colleagues will be provided with relevant Journal Club extracts to collectively share and critique.
• Colleagues will be challenged to reflect on practice, share ideas and fine tune this year’s development plan for each setting
• Colleagues will be given opportunities to form informal mini hubs to share practice and create co-constructed plans of development
• Colleagues will be offered expert tuition on speech and language techniques that enable pupils to 1) select 2) organise 3) clarify their thoughts and emotions
• Colleagues will be offered tuition on how to administer BPVS assessments and track vocabulary development (key area of focus for Ofsted)
