     4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Three workshops will take place during the first Secondary Maths Hub Meeting:

Cuisenaire Exploration – Donna Roughton, PHSG
Continuation of the PD that Caroline Ainsworth started on PLT day. We will be working together to further develop teacher’s understanding and use, of the cuisenaire rods to support teaching in KS3.
If you have a set of cuisenaire rods please bring them with you – I will have some that you can use

Thinking about variation – Sophie Wrigley, Scott College
Work group developing ideas and resources for the classroom using variation; standard, non standard and non-examples.

Tech in Maths: Improving practice & sustaining the change – Andy Guy, DHSB
CPD that attempts to develop teacher’s use of technology in the classroom is often limited in its effectiveness as momentum is lost when staff return to school.
In this session we’ll spend a little time playing with Geogebra and Desmos, and then look at an idea that aims to develop practice in a lasting way.

Please note: The event may contain cake!
