New to Headship 2022/23
This programme is an opportunity to explore the role and network with local new Headteachers. It has a clear focus on school improvement and how to plan for long term sustainable improvement.
The sessions will cover the following:
Session 1 – Designing Strategy – School Improvement Planning
Session 2 – Layers of Leadership – building capacity
Session 3 – Developing staff and difficult conversations
Session 4 – Accountability and Wellbeing
The programme will also include an opportunity to visit other schools in the locality.
Training Objectives:
To provide Headteachers with the skills and knowledge to:
- Write an effective SEF and School Improvement Plan
- Effectively deploy leadership for improvement
- Work effectively with different stakeholders
- Embed cycles of improvement across their schools
- Network with colleagues and make links
Learning Outcomes:
To understand how to:
- Plan and implement sustainable school improvement
- Develop an effective SEF and inspection preparation
- Manage staff and difficult conversations
- Work with governors and Trust Boar
