Description:

This is an opportunity to become familiar with the phonic phases in ‘Letters and Sounds’ and to understand the requirements within each phonic phase. There will be a focus on blending to read and segmenting to spell with some strategies to support these skills. Opportunities to apply these skills outside of the discrete phonic session will also be considered.

 

Aims:

To explore the phonic phases and understand their application.

Practitioners who are new to the teaching of phonics in Foundation/Year 1
