Ed Pawson (Ed presents on national platforms for RS, NATRE Executive, Educational consultant, Exeter Diocese and Devon SACRE adviser)
Speech will include:
- Commission on Religious Education Report which has been established to review the legal, education, and policy frameworks for religious education (RE)
- NATRE (National Association of Teachers of Religious Education)
- How can we bring engagement to RS?
- How can we bring academic rigor to the study of RS to ensure challenge?
Provisional workshops:
Provision of core/statutory RE, Subject knowledge (A level Buddhism), HoDs toolkit, engagement/enrichment/trips, challenge for the top end including boys, GCSE/A level moderation.
These workshops will be offered as a menu of choices to ensure teachers can pick based on individual CPD needs. Each workshop will have a facilitator. Teachers will come with resources, exemplar materials, questions etc to enable fruitful discussions around the themes of the workshops.

11.15-12.15 Workshops: Subject Knowledge Buddhism (Tanya), Challenge A/A*/9 (Clare), Subject Knowledge Islam (Ed)
12:15-12:45 Lunch Break
12.45-13:45 Workshops: HoDs toolkit/open discussion, PCFCD
13.45-14.45 Workshops: GCSE/A Level discussion and moderation
14:15-15.15 evaluation and forward planning for Open hubs
