Scaffolding Writing

This session will support any adults working with children who are in the early stages of their writing journey. This could be children who are working in the EYFS and KS1 or children who are working at these stages but are in KS2. The Writing Milestones document will be explored and understood further and attendees will have some practical opportunities to diagnose children’s next steps in writing and how to support children at the appropriate level.

This session will support teachers and leaders to plan effective learning opportunities for children who are in the early stages of their writing journey. This could be children who are working in the EYFS and KS1 or children who are working at these stages but are in KS2. The Writing Milestones document will be explored and understood further and attendees will have some practical opportunities to diagnose children’s next steps in writing and how to support children at the appropriate level. Additionally, scaffolding writing for children who are working towards the levels of their peers will be explored further with examples and sharing of best practice across the Trust.
