The Plymouth Oracy Project Week of Wonder – June 2020

The Plymouth Oracy Project are delighted to announce the first Week of Wonder in the city of Plymouth, bringing national speakers and support to the city, as well as showcasing the excellent Oracy practice happening in schools. We would like to invite schools to join us for this exciting week of CPD by either taking advantage of the block booking offer (where different staff can attend each event) or by booking onto events separately.

Michael Rosen Michael Rosen is one of Britain’s best loved writers and performance poets for children and adults and will be supporting the development of Oracy in Plymouth. 

Micheal will deliver a keynote address on the importance and power of Oracy followed by a one  hour workshop on the power of poetry and Oracy in the classroom. 

Michael will also be available for book signings from 12.30pm.

Please note: each delegate should bring a book of poetry and a photocopy of a poem suitable for children with them on the day.

School 21 Oli De Botton – Designing a High Expectations Curriculum This full day will explore the holistic philosophy of the wider curriculum and ‘Zoom In/ Zoom Out’ on current curriculum needs. It is a day of intellectual and practical pursuit that will support leaders to upskill staff on creating a knowledge rich curriculum, fit for purpose for all learners.  This will provide practical support and opportunities and will also showcase how Oracy has a key role to play within the curriculum.
